Where's the paper

It is getting impossible to get a printed edition of the Detroit Free Press - you have to get up at the crack of dawn and then if your lucky you'll get one of the two papers they deliver to your local gas station ($2.50) a paper or you will have to go in search in the area to find one. What's the deal you don't want to deliver or sell the printed edition any more? Everybody doesn't want to read the Free Press on line.

Non-delivery of paper

You don't answer your phone number, so I am trying this. I live at 29955 W Chicago St. I pay for home delivery, not grass or street. I have a 20 foot deck, it should not be a problem to get the paper there. However, for the last month, the paper has not made it to the deck. It is either in the street or the grass by the street. I don't count that as delivered. Please have someone from delivery call me at 734-421-****. Thank-you.

What I wanted was for you to deliver me the Sunday paper, not just give me credit for it on my account. It's the only paper I recieve in hard form for the week, plus we want the advertisers, such as they are.

No response

Wrote and asked why none of my comments are excepted. No reply, instead they signed me up to they're news letters. I must of ruffled a posters feathers and they kept reporting me just because they could. I didn't use foul language or anything.

Lack of understanding

It took me three months to convince the free press that I have moved, cancelled the newspaper beforehand and to get them to credit back the charges on my credit card. I've called to let them know that I was moving and that I was going to cancel the paper. I am now in a location where they don't deliver. They kept charging my account for another year. Finally after three months of many calls to them and my credit card company it's been resolved. I was on automatic debit and forgot that I was and Detroit Free Press still charged my card even though I have cancelled the subscriptiond

User's recommendation: Don't do automatic debit with them.

Refuse to refund my money

I put my Detroit Free Press paper on hole in March 2020 and was told I would receive the e-edition for no charge in the meantime. Upon receiving a renewal notice from the paper, I called and was informed that I would be getting a refund check for $88.18...after several calls and speaking with Brian..the supervisor..who promised to return my call and never did...I have been lied to every time I called and one time after asking for a supervisor..hung up on. I have been a customer since 1966 and will NEVER buy another paper....awful way to treat their customers..

Customer service and pdf edition

I haven't gotten the PDF to work right for ten days now, despite multiple calls to their customer service, which is now apparently in the Philippines, to fix this. As of today, Sunday, they apparently changed my sign in info and I can't get ANY type of paper so I called to try to figure out what they did to me and find out they're CLOSED today. Gee, when customer service was local you could reach then seven days a week! I am about to be an ex-customer. You now get less service and less content for way more money.

User's recommendation: Don't subscribe.

They won't Removing from their Delivery List!

We have been receiving the Detroit Free Press, weekly distribution of the Select - which is a free separate publication designed primarily for advertising. The Detroit Free Press enters a subscription for you, on their behalf, and you receive these publication thrown on your property in the wee hours of the morning. I have always picked them up, and placed them directly into our recycle bin. Many residents don’t pick them up, and they languish in the street where they are blown around, driven over, rained on and basically litter the street. After years of putting up with this, I finally sent an email requesting to be removed from the delivery. That didn’t work. So, I called and I was told, no problem. That didn’t work, so I called again, oh, no problem. That didn’t work, so then I called and suggested maybe I need to call an attorney or something. Finally, that worked! Of course it helped, that I knew a few communities around us were in fact suing the Detroit Free Press to stop unsolicited delivery of this publication. So, fast forward today. About a month ago, we began receiving the darned thing again. It’s received win the weekend, and of course, you have to wait until regular business hours to call - because they certainly don’t want to be inconvenienced! Finally, I got around to calling and was informed, I wasn’t on the route to receive one; that there must be a new delivery driver and that it would be taken care of. That didn’t work… What’s it say about a communications business that doesn’t communicate very well at all?! So, now I have to call again… I suppose I’ll have to threaten them again, because apparently if you’re polite and nice they simply don’t pay attention. They have no problem throwing unsolicited trash on thousands of yards every week! If they were ever to read any complaints, they would learn that because of their arrogance, I have resolved to never pay for a subscription to any of their publications, and I refuse to read their free Sunday Select.
